Travis Pederson
Jay “Travis” Pederson enlisted in the United States Army in 1993. He completed Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, as a 63S Heavy-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic.
He was stationed in El Paso, Texas, with the 2nd Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery (2/7 ADA), and also served a tour in South Korea. He completed his enlistment in 1996 and was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist (E-4).
His time in the Army was an important part of his life and helped shape many of the values he still carries today. The Army taught him the importance of hard work, responsibility, teamwork, and taking care of the people around him. Although his military service ended many years ago, the lessons, experiences, and friendships from that time have stayed with him.
Today he lives in Floresville, Texas, with his wife. They are blessed with two grown daughters. Faith and family are an important part of his life, and he enjoys spending as much time as he can outdoors. His interests include animal husbandry, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He appreciates the rural South Texas way of life and enjoys working with animals, being outdoors, and staying connected to his community.
He remains proud of his military service and grateful for the opportunity he had to serve his country. He continues to value the camaraderie that comes with being a veteran and believes strongly in supporting fellow veterans, their families, and the community they call home.
He serves as Adjutant of American Legion Post 38 in Floresville, Texas.
Trained as MOS 63S (Heavy-Wheel Vehicle Mechanic) at Fort Jackson. Stationed with 2/7 ADA in El Paso, Texas, with a tour in South Korea.
