DESCRIPTION:American Legion Riders\NSCTX Legacy Run 2026\NMarch 6, 2026 - 6:00 pm early check in\NMarch 7, 2026 - 8:00 am check in, KSU 9:00 am\NHosted by Mercedes ALR 172 & Pharr ALR 101,\Nto be held on South Padre Island at\NHoliday Inn Resort\N100 Padre Island\NFor Hotel Reservations call (956) 426-9066\NThis year's ride will benefit the American Legion Veterans & Children Foundation (VCF). The foundation feeds and houses children of military personnel and veterans facing urgent, unexpected hardships through Temporary Financial Assistance grants. These grants prevent eviction, keep the power on and fulfill basic needs to hold a family together through difficult times.\NThe VCF also covers rigorous training and accreditation costs for American Legion claims experts who provide free representation for veterans and families applying for disability benefits, survivor assistance, GI Bill opportunities and more.\N\NThe SCTX ALR consists of American Legion Riders from the South Central Texas area, to include ALR chapters from as far north as Round Rock, down south to Pharr in the Rio Grande Valley, and west from Kerrville to Columbus in the east. \N\NALR department advisor and SCTX Legacy Run chairman, Mark Meysembourg, presented the traveling Legacy Run plaque to Ed Richards, ALR director for Chapter 593 Converse. Also pictured is Brown Zavala, 3rd Division ALR advisor and vice- chairman for the SCTX Legacy Run. The traveling plaque is presented each year to the post/chapter hosting the annual SCTX Legacy Run. \N\NALR department advisor sand SCTX Legacy Run chairman, Mark Meysembourg, presented certificates of appreciation to members of Post 460 in Castroville for donations and for sponsoring lunch for the annual event.
